Glass Printing

The second project was aimed at looking at the use of printing technology to produce stand-alone preforms and add different glass layers with modified properties (e.g. thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, TCE modification, radiation protection etc.).

A range of glass pastes were produced using alternative organic vehicle technology and these produced successful preforms. The project was successful and Mansol have now adopted the process for legend printing on to connector preforms.

As a spin off a range of dispensable glass pastes were also developed.
